It doesn't matter whether it's Paris, Pátzcuaro, Tangier, Chefchaouen, Yangon, or Kabul, one of the best ways to get to know the culture and vibe of a place is through the local food.

From an early age I have always had a deep passion for traveling and exploration and food has played a central roll in my journeys. Even when I could not go to a particular place I would pour over cookbooks to see if I could learn some of the secrets from the places I wanted to explore.

Glossy restaurants and glossy cookbooks I find less intriguing than some little mom and pop bistro or teashop that has been around for decades, totally dedicated to the passion of creating the best possible dishes, lovingly presented. So too a creative cookbook that articulates the essence of that sensibility always pulls me in as I try to learn its secrets.

With commercial food and restaurant menu photography I always try to craft images that are true to the heart and soul of the project and yet also provide enough flexibility for the art department team to be able to integrate into various designs and uses.

In every food project I work on I strive to instill some of that wonder, passion, and discovery that still captivates me in my journeys.
